Craig Finger has been the director of bands for the Nixa school District since 1997. As head director, Mr. Finger supervises all aspects of the Nixa band program and is the lead teacher for the high school ensembles. Prior to teaching at Nixa, he was the Director of Bands for the Mtn. Grove school district. Mr. Finger is a 1994 graduate of Missouri State University and also holds a Masters in Educational Administration from that same institution (2003). He has served as the Band Vice President for the South Central Missouri Music Educators Association for six years. He is a member of the Missouri Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Missouri Band Masters Association, Phi Beta Mu, Percussive Arts Society, and the Missouri State Teachers Association. He has been selected as a member of Who's Who Among America's Teachers numerous times as well as the Sam's Club Teacher of the Year in 2007. Mr. Finger has served as a clinician and adjudicator across the state of Missouri. When not in the classroom, Mr. Finger can be found sharing time with his wife and his son.
Kim Martin is in her 9th year as an assistant band director in the Nixa R-2 School District. Mrs. Martin's main responsibility is lead teacher for the beginning band students. She graduated from Missouri State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Mrs. Martin has served as a clinician at Missouri State University's "Bands Alive!" summer camp, in both the concert and marching arenas. She is a member of Missouri Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference and Missouri State Teachers Association. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter.
Kris Morehead begins his 10th year in education and his 2nd as an assistant band director for the Nixa band program. Mr. Morehead’s primary duty is serving as lead teacher for the JH students. He is a 1997 graduate of Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska; having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education degree with endorsements in both instrumental music and French.
