:: Fundraising
:: Nixa Bands Nixa, Missouri::
- A major objective of the Nixa Band Boosters is to provide additional funding for the band
program and to assist with the raising of funds for trips.
- The boosters adhere to the districts fundraising policy which can be found on the school
district website.
- For questions regarding fundraising, please contact fundraising chairperson, Sandy
Bihlmeyer. If you have ideas, please contact her as well. All ideas will be brought to the
fundraising committee and booster officers for discussion.
- You can check your students trip account, which will list amounts earned from
fundraisers, by visiting the Hawaii Page.
- We have worked out a plan so that students can fundraise beyond the final trip payment.

Nixa Band Booster Fundraising Activities
1. Candy Bars: Sell 1 box of 50 candy bars at $1 per bar, and make $26.00! The candy bars will
be in the band room and available for distribution in the band room after school. We will “front” you
the first box, bring back the $50.00, and we will give another. All profits will go directly to your student
account. Currently we are out of candy bars but there are more on the way and will be ready for
distribution when you return from spring break.
2. Service Project: Concessions at Hammons: Ovations Food Service, who is in charge of
concessions at Hammons events, has volunteer opportunities to work concessions and keep 10%
of profits made from the concession. (A $100.00 minimum guarantee is made by Ovations, no
matter what the sales!)
• There are 2 events currently available; April 18 and April 19. Please sign up on the form in the
band room.
• Click here for the Ovations handbook. Please note the dress code on page 4.
• Click here for the Ovations worker agreement. You will need to appoint 1 Stand Manager and 1
Assistant Stand Manager, and both will need to sign the agreement and bring to the event.
• Group sizes needed range from 6 – 18, depending on the concession that is assigned by
Ovations.
• You will work approximately 4 ½ - 5 hours.
• Ovations make the concessions assignments, therefore deciding group size, dates, etc. This
means that even if you do sign up, you may not get assigned each event for which you are available.
You will be notified of assigned dates.
• The proceeds from the event will be divided among the workers. If a parent and student work
the event, you will receive both workers’ amounts.
• Age limit is 16 years and over.
• We will need at least 1 adult per event.
• Proceeds will go directly into the student’s trip account.
3. Direct Mail Letter: Here is a fundraising idea that would yield 100% profit and could be more
effective than you first think. Click here for the instructions as well as the letter.
